AcupunctureAcupuncture

Traditional Chinese Medicine developed out of a concept of using needles inserted into the body as a means of correcting and rebalancing the movement and levels of ‘Qi’ (energy life force) within the body. It is believed that an imbalance of Qi leads to disease and pain.

Research evidence supporting the effectiveness of acupuncture, particularly in the management of pain is increasing. Acupuncture combined with physiotherapy is now widely accepted as a way to reduce muscle spasm and pain.

Modern acupuncture is available at the Bristol Physiotherapy Clinic and the physiotherapists providing this are members of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
