Gareth qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2012 from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Gareth has 12 years of private practice experience dealing with musculoskeletal issues and sports injuries.

His post grad studies included OMT (Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy), which is the evidence-based biopsychosocial management of patients with neuro-musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Gareth previously was the Head Physio for a South African premier league football team, Golden Arrows FC. He also gained experience working with provincial cricket as well as school boy provincial rugby teams. Gareth is trained in Shockwave Therapy here at Bristol Physiotherapy Clinic, a cutting edge treatment for persistent tendon problems. He has completed dry needling courses and is a BASI qualified Pilates mat work teacher. Gareth has gained further knowledge through online courses based on shoulder injuries and pathologies, ACL injuries, and the sporting hip.

Gareth has a passion for all sports, fitness and rehabilitation. He runs, swims, cycles, plays padel, golf and enjoys training for marathons and triathlons including an XTERRA tri where he recently came first in his category (fourth overall). Gareth hopes to one day beat his previous best marathon time of 2:57 hrs.
