For all you lady runners out there, you may have the latest pair of trainers, latest reflective gear and most up to date watch for recording your running times but I am sure that some of you have missed out one very important piece of equipment, your sports bra. Your sports bra is essential for running and research has found that you should ideally get a new sports bra for every new pair of trainers you buy.
Women’s breasts are mainly composed of fatty tissue and are supported by the skin and small fragile ligaments called Coopers Ligaments. High intensity exercise for example running will create a lot of stress on these fragile ligaments and will ultimately cause them to stretch. The stretching of the cooper ligaments will result in every women’s nightmare, saggy breasts.
So ladies look after your coopers ligaments and make sure that when out running you are wearing a good supportive sports bra.
